


Do you need help with food or basic provisions? At Shepshed Foodbank, we can help by providing you with enough to feed a family of four for up to 3 days.
To qualify for help, you will need to come to see us and provide us with some basic information. Please find below an FAQ which we hope you will find helpful.
How can I receive food assistance?
To receive food, contact us (see below for our contact details) and arrange to visit to provide the basic information, as below, which we need to see before we can confirm your registration.
What should I bring with me when I come to register?
Please bring a form of identification (with your current name and address) plus proof of benefits and regular income and outgoings.
What happens the first time I go to the Foodbank?
You may find it helpful to have agreed with your Foodbank contact the best time for you to arrive on the first Tuesday that you visit (normally this would be between 11.00am and 12:30pm). When you first arrive, one of our volunteers will meet with you in a quiet space to undertake the registration process which includes checking your documentation (see above) and your overall eligibility. We will also take the time to introduce you to some of the volunteers and to explain how the Foodbank operates.
How often can I receive food assistance?
The Foodbank is open on a Tuesday weekly between the hours of 11:00am and 12:30pm and aims to provide enough food for 3 days.

Leicestershire Local Area Coordinators
Local Area Co-ordinators aim to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. This helps to reduce demand on public services (mainly health and social care), preventing people from reaching crisis, and putting people in control of their lives and choices.
They work closely with GP surgeries, adult social care teams and borough/districts in order to identify individuals who may benefit from support, as well as developing a presence within their local communities. Contact details are below.
