We envisage that our local community will need the Foodbank for the foreseeable future. We are currently spending a substantial amount each year on food, as well as running expenses; this will inevitably rise as food becomes ever more expensive.
There are a number of ways you can support the Foodbank and these are shown below.
Volunteer
We have a dedicated and committed team of volunteers who help in the running of the Foodbank as well as essential activities such as collecting food donation and shopping for essential provisions.
As you can imagine, volunteers who give their time freely are often in a position where they have to step back or reduce the amount of work they do, so we are always looking for additional people who would be willing to give a few hours a month to join our friendly team.
Volunteers must typically be at least 16 years old and must provide two references which will be considered as part of the registration process.

Shepshed Foodbank is a charity with its own team of trustees who monitor the organisation and work to continually improve the service provided.
You can find out how to volunteer by contacting us on 07594 639668 or by email to info@shepshedfoodbank.org

Donate Food
We are continually grateful to residents of Shepshed and the surrounding villages who faithfully donate food and provisions.

We have food collection boxes in various locations within Shepshed including ASDA, Charnwood Road, Co-Op, Anson Road, St, Botolph’s Church, St Winefride’s Church, Christchurch Methodist Church, Charnwood Road Baptist Church, Shepshed Word of Life Church, Shepshed Volunteer Centre and the Glenmore Centre.
There are also food collection boxes in many of the local villages.
We particularly appreciate donations of:
- Non-perishable items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, cereals, sugar, tea, coffee, long-life milk.
- Baby food and dog/cat food
- Basic toiletries such as shower gel, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner.
- We accept fresh produce (but only if delivered direct to the Foodbank on Monday mornings 9.30am-11.00am).”
Donate Money
We are very well supported by churches and businesses in Shepshed and Loughborough, the Loughborough Students’ Action Group and voluntary organisations including the Shepshed Lions.
We also have individuals who make regular donations or one-off gifts.
If you would like to help our work, you can make a one off donation or regular standing order by clicking the button below.
Donations to our Foodbank are tax-deductible. We provide receipts for all financial donations.

Cash donations and cheques can be handed over to us at the Foodbank on a Monday morning. Every pound helps provide meals to those in need.
Support from Businesses
We welcome partnerships with businesses and organisations. Please contact us on 07594 639668 or info@shepshedfoodbank.org to discuss how your organisation can support, or donate to, the Foodbank.
